Music streamer Spotify is offering a free Google Nest Mini (formerly Google Home Mini) voice-activated smart speaker to new and existing £10 per month 'Premium' subscribers.You can do this until 11.59pm on Wed 30 Sep, or while stock lasts. I'm trying to sign up for the Google home mini free offer, and I can get through all the prompts okay. But at the end of the process the device is not free it's still $49. I got an email from Spotify with a link to connect my google account to my Spotify. I proceeded to the checkout after selecting my mini and now it is charging at the full. For a while last year, Spotify was giving away free Google Home Mini speakers to its Spotify Premium for Family subscribers. Now, it’s bringing back the offer and extending it to individual. Spotify has rolled out the promotion to “make it even easier to discover and listen to Spotify via Google Home Mini and other Assistant-powered devices,” according to the release. Last April, Spotify offered a promo where Premium plan subscribers could get a free Google Home Mini speaker. Fast forward to 2020 and the promo has returned–but this time it’s for a newer Google Nest Mini speaker for free with a Premium plan.

1. Introduction.
This Spotify Premium Supplemental Offer (the “Supplemental Offer”) is made available by Spotify (as defined in the Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use (“Spotify Terms of Use”) and subject to these terms and conditions (the “Supplemental Offer Terms”). These Supplemental Offer Terms supplement and incorporate by reference the additional terms and conditions referenced below:

(A) in the case of full paying Eligible Subscribers to Premium Individual: the Spotify Terms of Use; or

(B) in the case of Eligible Subscribers to Premium Family: the Premium Family Terms and Conditions (the “Premium Family Offer Terms”);

(C) in the case of Eligible Subscribers to Premium Duo: the Premium Duo Terms and Conditions (the “Premium Duo Offer Terms”);

(D) in the case of Eligible Subscribers to Premium Student: the Premium Student Terms and Conditions (the “Premium Student Offer Terms”).

If there is any inconsistency between these Supplemental Offer Terms and the Spotify Terms of Use; the Premium Family Offer Terms; the Premium Duo Offer Terms; or the Premium Student Offer Terms (as applicable), these Supplemental Offer Terms will prevail. Relevant references to “Paid Subscriptions” in the Spotify Terms of Use; to the “Premium Family Subscription” in the Premium Family Offer Terms, to the “Premium Duo Subscription” in the Premium Duo Offer Terms and to the “Premium for Students Subscription” in the Premium Student Offer Terms shall be read to apply also to this Supplemental Offer where relevant and permitted by these Supplemental Offer Terms.

2. The offer.
Eligible Subscribers (as defined below) are entitled, subject to these Supplemental Offer Terms, to receive a Promotional Code with this Supplemental Offer - where “Promotional Code” means a unique code that may be redeemed on the Google Store against a Google Nest Mini device (each a “GNM Device”). Google, and not Spotify, is responsible for the acceptance and fulfilment of orders for each GNM Device and separate terms and conditions made available by Google apply to each order placed. Information on the features and operating requirements of a GNM Device is provided directly by Google on the Google Store. Only one Supplemental Offer may be applied to each Eligible Subscriber (as defined below). Google Nest and Google Nest Mini are trademarks of Google LLC.

3. Duration.
This Supplemental Offer is supply limited. The Supplemental Offer shall end automatically and no longer be available for redemption on the earliest of:

(A) the advertised expiry date;
(B) supplies of Promotional Codes running out; or
(C) this Supplemental Offer being earlier terminated by Spotify.

4. Eligibility.
To receive this Supplemental Offer, users must satisfy all of the conditions listed at 4(A)-(D) below (each an “Eligible Subscriber”):

(A) You must, subject to the exclusions below, be - or subscribe to become - a Qualifying Plan Subscriber, where “Qualifying Plan Subscriber“ means a current, paying subscriber in Canada to one of the following forms of Spotify Premium (a type of Paid Subscription):

(i) Premium Individual;
(ii) Premium Family (subscribers to the Premium Family plan must be the primary account holder in order to be a Qualifying Plan Subscriber: family sub-accounts are not eligible);
(iii) Premium Duo (subscribers to the Premium Duo Subscription must be the primary account holder in order to be a Qualifying Plan Subscriber: family sub-accounts are not eligible); or
(iv) Premium Student. Premium Student is not available in Quebec.

Users on a free or discounted trial of Premium Individual, Premium Family, Premium Duo or Premium Student are not eligible for this Supplemental Offer (together “Ineligible Trial Subscribers”). If you are an Ineligible Trial Subscriber who wants to participate in this Supplemental Offer, you must first end your trial period early and purchase a paid, non-trial subscription to Premium Individual, Premium Family, Premium Duo or Premium Student respectively - provided your account is linked to a valid and recurring payment method (Spotify gift cards and non-recurring payment methods are not valid payment methods for this Supplemental Offer). Any remaining trial period will be forfeit upon purchase and monthly billing will start immediately, at the respective advertised price.

Existing Qualifying Plan Subscribers’ ability to access Spotify Premium shall continue unaffected. By registering your interest to receive a Promotional Code (as defined below) you (i) accept this Supplemental Offer and (ii) acknowledge and agree to these Supplemental Offer Terms.

(B) You must not have used a Spotify-distributed code on the Google Store at any time in the past. For example, if you have previously used a Spotify-distributed code on the Google Store to complete the purchase of a GNM Device (formerly known as a Google Home Mini device) you will not be eligible for this Supplemental Offer;

(C) You must have a valid and current payment method. If you have cancelled your subscription or if your payment method has failed, you will not be eligible for this Supplemental Offer. Spotify gift cards and non-recurring payment methods cannot be used to participate in this Supplemental Offer; and

(D) You must pay for your Spotify Premium subscription directly to Spotify and not through a third party (e.g., not through a cable or telecommunications provider).

5. Redemption.
To order a GNM Device, you must affirmatively take certain steps to redeem your Promotional Code on the Google Store - it will not happen automatically.

Spotify Free Google Home Mini Offer

You must first register your interest with us about receiving a Promotional Code. Subject to availability, once we have noted your interest and received the Promotional Code from Google, we will send an email with that Promotional Code to the email address that you provided to us.
After you have received a Promotional Code, you must link your Spotify account with the Google Assistant and follow the steps and information outlined to you before you can redeem a Promotional Code. Follow the steps in the email that we send to you to do this. After you have linked your accounts, you will be directed to the Google Store where you may redeem the Promotional Code. If you navigate away from the Google Store before completing checkout or if you access the Google Store other than via the redemption email that we send to you, the Promotional Code will not be applied and you will be charged in full for a GNM Device. Promotional Codes must be redeemed on or before 31st October 2020 or they will expire.

6. Fulfilment and shipping of GNM Devices.

Fulfilment and shipping of all GNM Devices is undertaken by Google, not Spotify.
Fulfilment: To redeem your Promotional Code on the Google Store, you must visit store.google.com and sign into, or create, a Google account. Promotional codes cannot be used with Guest Checkout. You must add the GNM Device to your cart and enter a form of payment approved by Google: if you access the Google Store by clicking on the redemption email that we send you, the Promotional Code will be applied automatically by Google during checkout. Use of the Google Store will be subject to the Google Store Promotion Terms, together with any other terms and conditions made available by Google on the Google Store, including the Google Store Terms of Sale. Promotional Codes and GNM Devices are non-transferable and may not be exchanged or returned for cash or used for any other product or service.

Shipping: GNM Devices cannot be sent to P.O. Boxes and can only be shipped within Canada. The Google Store will not charge for standard shipping but charges will apply if you select expedited shipping.

7. Privacy
In order to complete the fulfilment and shipping of GNM Devices, Google will share certain personally identifiable information with Spotify. This information will include redemption code ID, country, order status, date of redemption, date of shipping, product SKU, order number and batch ID. This information will be processed by Spotify subject to the Spotify Privacy Policy.

On Tuesday, Spotify announced that it is bringing back its free Google Home Mini offer, but is opening up the offer to far more customers than were able to take advantage of it last year. In 2018, only subscribers with Spotify Premium for Family subscriptions were able to snag the free Google Home Mini, but starting October 22nd, 2019, new and existing Premium Individual subscribers are eligible to pick up a free Home Mini as well.

Once you prove that you aren’t a robot, you’ll be redirected to Google’s online store, where you can choose between four colors of Google Home Minis: Coral, Charcoal, Chalk, and Aqua. With Saver shipping, I was able to complete my purchase for a grand total of $0, and my completely free Google Home Mini will arrive in the next two weeks.

In all likelihood, this is just an easy way for Google to clear out the remaining Home Mini inventory now that the Nest Mini is available with better sound, improved voice recognition, and a wall mount, but if you have ever wanted to give Google’s smart speaker a spin, this is the cheapest and easiest way to do so.
